Purpose of the Role

Ignition Pro is seeking an enthusiastic and organised HR and Administrative Officer to support the HR team in delivering effective people operations across all campuses. Reporting to the Head of HR, the successful candidate will assist with day-to-day HR administration, recruitment coordination, onboarding, and compliance activities.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support across core HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, and personnel administration.
  • Support administrative operations across management functions to ensure smooth day-to-day activities.
  • Assist with the end-to-end recruitment process, including:
    • Drafting and posting job advertisements across relevant platforms
    • Scheduling interviews and coordinating with candidates and hiring managers
    • Responding to recruitment enquiries in a timely and professional manner
    • Preparing offer letters and supporting employment contract issuance
  • Maintain and update personnel files, HR databases, and internal trackers accurately and timely.
  • Support onboarding and induction of new starters.
  • Monitor and record staff leave and absence documentation.
  • Manage office supplies and place orders when required.
  • Support campus inspection readiness and compliance requirements.
  • Assist with health and safety compliance and record-keeping.
  • Contribute to HR policy, handbook, and documentation updates.
  • Handle confidential HR correspondence professionally.
  • Provide general administrative support to HR and senior management.
  • Support ad-hoc HR projects and research tasks as required.
  • Perform duties as directed to support operational needs.

Person Specification

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, or related field (or working towards one).
  • At least 1 year of experience in HR or administrative role.
  • Basic understanding of HR functions and employment legislation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational ability.
  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general IT skills.
  • Proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in higher education or multi-site organisation.
  • Familiarity with HR systems or databases.
  • Knowledge of compliance or inspection processes.
  • CIPD Level 3 qualification.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary package (£27,000 – £30,000) depending on experience.
  • 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • 3% annual salary increment subject to performance.
  • Travel expenses reimbursed for inter-campus travel.
